Higher education in Layyah since 2018

Muhammad Ali Institute of Science & Technology (MAIST) is a higher-education institute on a 100-kanal green campus in Layyah, Punjab, offering university-affiliated degree programs and certified technical training.

Who we are

An institute built around student success

MAIST was established in 2018 to bring quality degree-level education to Layyah. Today it offers 11 programs across computing, the sciences, business, arts & humanities and teacher education, alongside NAVTTC technical courses.

Computer Science, IT, Cyber Security, BBA, English, Mathematics, Chemistry and Zoology are offered in affiliation with Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering & Information Technology (KFUEIT); BS Computer Science, BBA, BS Urdu, BFA and B.Ed are affiliated with the University of Education, Lahore. Alongside degree programs, MAIST offers NAVTTC-certified technical courses — some with a monthly stipend — and hosts a Women Development & Resource Centre.

Our history

From 2018 to today

  1. 2018

    MAIST established; first affiliation with the University of Education, Lahore for MA Urdu, MA Education and B.Ed (1.5 years).

  2. 2019

    UE Lahore affiliation extended to BS IT, English, BFA, BBA, Zoology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Botany and Physics.

  3. 2022

    Affiliation with Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering & Information Technology (KFUEIT), Rahim Yar Khan.

  4. 2026

    Fall 2026: KFUEIT programs, plus BS CS, BBA, BS Urdu, BFA and B.Ed with UE Lahore.

Degree-level education close to home
